Even the 45th
anniversary of the Cultural Association of Campodipietra in Montreal went
down in history: and it was remembered last November 9th at the Buffet
Le Rizz. It was the Disco Marino that enlivened the evening which began,
with a performance that was nothing short of sparkling, thanks to the
magic numbers of the very youthful magician, illusionist Nicky Circelli;
while the all female Corale Abruzzese, later in the evening, attracted
the attention of those present with its tarantellas. There was also the
photo-booth corner for souvenir photographs as well as that of face painting
activities for the little ones; free tickets to the banquet for those
over 80, souvenirs of circumstance for each member and various prizes
for attendance.
Unfortunately, of the six founding members there are only three still
alive; they were honored with a painting reproducing a retrospective acrostic
of the FORTY FIVE years of the association; On the other hand appropriately,
a scholarship at the university level was not lacking and awarded to Christopher
D’Avirro, a student of Concordia University: almost a grateful look
at the past, with a dutiful thought also for the future. Best wishes to
our Association and Viva Campodipietra! |
