In the beginning
of November 2014: a beautiful celebration took place for the 40th anniversary
of our Cultural Association of Campodipietra in Montreal. It was a deep
emotional moment when we received on tape, the wishes of the campopietresis.
A moving moment of the celebrations was the projection, a retrospective
showing all we’ve accomplished so far! Beautiful was the montage
made by John Perrotta with a soundtrack of nostalgic music sung by the
Friends of the River of Aldo Ricciardi. It was amazing to notice how people
of Campodipietra, together and with so many other associative groups,
contributed to Montreal social and cultural development. Besides the mythical
Disco Marino, the celebrations were overflowing by the presence of the
youth to the party that took place at the Rizz.
Besides the important draw prizes, the highlight of the event was the
scholarships given to deserving students; the college level one was awarded
to Catlyn Di Avirro; and the university one was won by Christina Cefaratti.
Cutting the anniversary cake, the committee sang the classical "happy
birthday to you" and wishes another further 100 years of community
activity for our Association! |
